3.      President (Frank Plefka) Report

·        Review Previous Meeting Minutes:  Frank Reviewed the previous meeting minutes which included Opening Day plans, Major League schedule changes, the umpire clinic, and team apparel ordering.

·        Role Call:  All teams were represented except T-Ball Team Spiers.

·        District 14 Meeting: Frank thanked Tim Gallagher & Vinnie Green for attending the meeting with him.

-Highlights were Tony Eller reviewed the rules (pitch counts & pitcher can’t move to the catcher spot).

-Background checks were also discussed and the importance of having them done.

-Do we want to host a tournament game? It probably will not be a Glendora team.  We will table this question for now and discuss with the Ladies Auxiliary who would have to open the stand.

-Anyone interested in umpiring a tournament game see Paul Merklein.

-The 12 year old tournament is looking like it will start earlier than previous years, possibly 6/23.

-The 10 & 11 year old tournaments are going to start in mid July.

-Next district meeting will be about Tournaments and Tournament Manager requirements.

·        Jr/Sr Umpires:  Frank advised that we are responsible for umpiring the Jr./Sr. games.  This was different than what we previously thought and will cost us extra money in umpire fees.

·        Inner League Meeting: Frank attended this meeting and paid our League fees which was $200 ($100/each team).

·        Sponsorship: We have close to $3K in sponsorship money that we need to collect.  Frank requested that if anyone knows a sponsor personally to initiate contact with them and collect our money.  Frank also reviewed the names of the sponsors that owe us money.

·        Home Run Derby: Home Run Derby Day will be at Whitebirch field.  It is sponsored by the Ladies Auxiliary and being run by the Philadelphia Phillies.  Christine Razo may look into a Home Run Derby at 7th Avenue for the Junior/Seniors.  It was also mentioned that we can look into a Jr/Sr Home Run Derby as a fundraiser, possibly a wiffle ball tournament.

·        Spending: Frank let everyone know that we are at the point where any more spending needs to be brought up at the meetings and it all has to be approved.  We have tournament uniforms and trophies that will take up a major portion of our funds.

4.      Vice President (Henry Theisen) No Report

·        Sponsorship: Henry re-stated what Frank reported regarding sponsorships and collecting our money.  Henry advised that the majority of the sponsors have indicated that they are going to pay or send a check. He also advised that he has sponsorship signs on order.

5.      Secretary (Rich Rinaldi) Report

·        General: Rich distributed previous meeting minutes and voting eligibility information.

·        Mail: Only mail was an outstanding invoice from Cook’s Florist which we actually paid already.  Rich & Frank advised them of this in person.

·        Email Addresses: Rich passed around an email list so that we could get updated email information for everyone.

6.      Treasurer (Joe Snyder) Report

·        Finances: Joe reported financial information & details through this meeting.  Last meeting we had $12,131 in the bank.  Since then we issued 13 checks and also had 5 deposits.  Our current balance is $10,417.65.  We have one outstanding invoice for Sports Outlet which we will pay for $1,070.00.  We also are issuing a check for $225.00 for umpire fees.

·        Phones: Phones were turned on as of April 1st.

·        Casino Bus Trip:  Joe reminded everyone that it is not too late to go on the Casino Bus Trip fundraiser Friday night.  If anyone is interested contact Denielle Snyder.  The bus leaves Glendora Fire Company at 6:30PM.

10.   Player Agent (Mike O’Brien) Report

12.   Division Coordinator Reports

Majors (Bob Hawn):

·        Absent – No Report

Minors (Rick Boutilier):

·        No Report

Ponies (Harry Reilly):

·        Harry brought up some issues about the Pony playing rules – mainly adjusting the pitching machine and clarification on when the ball is considered dead in the infield.  This was a “Pony Only” issue so he was advised to meet with the Pony Managers and Coaches after this meeting and to discuss and vote on any changes.

13.   NEW BUSINESS

·        Choice Point: Frank made everyone aware of Choice Point which does are background check.  We get 80 free checks and anything beyond that cost $1 a check.  Point is we need to fill out Volunteer forms and get our background checks done.  We are seeing Coaches on the field, especially in the Senior/Junior divisions and do not have forms filled out.  We need to complete our checks by June 1st so we need them filled out and turned in by the next meeting.

·        Players Being Called Up: Mike O’Brien advised that he needs to be contacted when a player is being moved up to fill in for a team that is short a player.

·        Alcohol: It was noted that we need to be aware of our surroundings and the possibility that alcohol could get on the fields.
GLL Apparel: Chris Pasani brought up the idea of putting GLL apparel on the website with pictures and an ordering form so people could order.  Rich will take care of this.
