1. CALL TO ORDERThe President called
the meeting to order at 8:36 PM. 2.

President (Frank Plefka) Report
| · Review Previous Meeting Minutes: Frank reviewed the previous meeting minutes which included Key GLL Dates, Pictures
Contract Renewal, Possible Bob DiDonato Tournament Changes and the Beef-N-Beverage.·
Constitution Changes: Frank read the Constitution changes for the 2nd time (They are listed in previous minutes
& on the website) and then they were voted on. There were 19 members eligible to vote
and the vote make the Constitution Changes was passed 18 YES to 1 NO. ·
Pictures: The picture packages were reviewed and it was determined that we were getting
the best deal from Sports Image so we will keep our contract with them.· Ladies Auxiliary: The next Ladies Auxiliary meeting is 2/15/09 and we will get firm dates then for things like Home
Run Derby, Casino Bus Trip, Riversharks Night and the Flea-Market Fundraiser.· Inner-League:
District 14 has absorbed all inner-league play for 2009. You can have up to 4 teams per division
to play in inner-league. We are encouraging that we get involved with inner-league wherever we can.
The next District 14 meeting is Sunday January 25th – 7PM in Brooklawn.·
Tony Eller: Frank advised that Tony Eller who did our Umpire Clinic last year was chosen to umpire in the Little
League World Series so Congratulations to Tony.· Insurance & Charter:
Our insurance application was sent out last week. Cost this year was $1,548.90. We should
have our charter by the next meeting.· Safety Plan:
We need to submit our Safety Plan by April 1st which Frank will take care of. |
4. Vice President (Harry Reilly) Report · Sponsorships: Harry
advised that new Sponsorship Packages were put together by himself, Frank & Rich, which basically breaks down to 3 categories
and prices for sponsorship. A new Sponsorship application was created and is on the website and being distributed
tonight. Harry is also looking into creating a “yearbook” that we would sell. 5. Secretary (Rich Rinaldi) Report · General:
Distributed previous meeting minutes, voting eligibility information, registration flyers and new sponsorship applications.·
Mail: Received a Magnolia Gardens invoice for $477.85 and a Little League Umpire Registry
letter, and the bank statement through December 3rd which showed a balance of $7,262.91. 6. Treasurer (Joe Snyder) Report | ·
Finances: Joe reported financial information through this meeting which included a current balance of $6,409.00.
Bills we paid included two Verizon invoices and the insurance bill. We took in $1,258 for our first
registration date. |
7. Field Director (Steve Bentley) Report 8. Safety Director (Bo Cerveny) Report 9. Umpire-In-Chief (Paul Merklein) Report 10. Player Agent (Mike O’Brien) Report | · Registrations: Mike reported
that we had 19 signups for the first day which included new players to the League. |
11. Equipment Manager (Rick Boutilier) Report 12. Division Coordinator Reports 13. NEW BUSINESS | ·
Opening Day: Frank will apply for permits for the parade for opening day. We would like Opening
Day to be at our “Flag” field which is Whitebirch but since a president was set last year by voting on the opening
day field we will do the same at the next meeting. Opening Day is April 4th with Sunday April
5th being the rain date.· Tryouts: Tryouts are
set for Saturday March 7th with Sunday March 8th being the rain date. We will make
every effort to have tryouts on Saturday the 7th and will also look into a backup plan which could possibly allow
us use of one of the High School gyms in case it rains (Triton or Highland).·
Managers: We will be nominating and voting on Managers at the 1st meeting in
February which is 2/11/09.· Beef-N-Beverage: We will meet
this Thursday at the VFW to get a count on tickets. Everyone should turn in their money and unsold tickets
Thursday. We will be doing all the setup work for on Friday at 6:30PM at the Fire Hall. |
14.
MEETING ADJOURNMENT (Meeting was adjourned at 9:11 PM, next meeting is
Wednesday January 28th at the Glendora VFW – 8:30 PM. Don’t forget that our first Registration
