Gary Wright born in Creskill, NJ - Anyone remember "Dreamweaver" from 1975.  Also had a hit with "In Cars".  Gary was a member of the band Spooky Tooth a long time ago.

David Cassidy born in West Orange, NJ - Come on ladies The Partridge Family, I think I Love You....

Jon Bon Jovi born in Sayerville, NJ - Here's I'll Be There For You live from Philadelphia in 1989

Ice-T born in Newark, NJ - Old school rapper and now television star

Debbie Harry from Hawthorne, NJ - She was actually born in Florida but was adopted by a couple when she was 3 months old and grew up in Hawthorne.  Check her out below as lead singer of Blondie where she made her mark in punk music.

Lauryn Hill born in South Orange, NJ - Former member of The Fugees and also won album of the year back in 1998 - Check out Doo Wop

Whitney Houston born in Newark, NJ - Okay she is absolutely nuts but she has quite an unbelievable voice and was also quite popular - Check her out with I Wanna Dance With Somebody

Tom Verlaine born in Morristown, NJ - Very influential on the punk scene in the 70's - Was leader of the influential punk band Television which formed in 1973 - Check out the classic Call Mr. Lee below

The Sugarhill Gang from Englewood, NJ - "Rapper's Delight" the first hip hop song to become a top 40 hit in 1979...seems pretty tame huh?

SPOTLIGHT...Check out Linda Ronstadt, Chuck Berry & Keith Richards doing Back In The USA.  Great version from the documentary "Hail Hail Rock and Roll" celebrating the great Chuck Berry's 60th Birthday.  Linda Ronstadt is simply awesome.
